Geraldo partly blames teen’s hoodie

“I’ll bet you money that if he didn’t have that hoodie on, that nutty neighborhood watch guy wouldn’t have responded in that violent and aggressive way,” Rivera said.

Please read this whole story here, there’s more.

Geraldo, I’m a 5’3 white female. Do you think if I were wearing a hoodie, someone would think I was a menace and shoot me? If I were wearing a short skirt and heels, someone might rape me. African-Americans and women really ought to choose clothing more carefully.

  1. Sorry, I just find what you typed to be an ignorant generalization. It wasn’t necessary for you to bring up an ethnicity with apparel. People in general should “choose their clothing more carefully”; it isn’t a one race thing.
Should hoodies and skirts should be reserved for Caucasians only?

For you to be ‘feminist’ you should know better.

  2. I have no idea why Geraldo feels the need to bring up the hoodie.. I’m a woman and I wear a raincoat that has a hoodie since this is March and weather here brings showers and wind and even when I check the weather channel it’s unpredictable. The wind when it’s strong just tears my umbrella up. I bought my hooded raincoat from J C Penney at a reasonable price. It is quite conservative looking, not flashy at all. It is a Liz Claiborne Petite and I got it on sale. It zips all the way up for rainy_windy weather. I often walk 3 blocks to the grocery store with a backpack for milk and other needed items. It has never occurred to me that I might get shot because of the way I dress. Maybe I’ve been too naive but I hope not.
