Even the most dedicated of nine year olds can’t do all Taylor all the time. Luckily, over Spring Break last week, we discovered an awesome band: First Aid Kit. You’ve got to listen to this beautiful music and lyrics from two Swedish sisters. Here is “Emmylou” which I think is a reference to Emmylou Harris, yet another great artist.

ok I just love music from Scandinavian areas… I was just listening to ABBA as I was browsing this blog.
So this music, this is super good. I had never heard of it, but they have a really unique sound! To me it’s pretty authentically country (like Emmylou Harris ! ) but it has a sort of ethereal feel to it. Thanks so much for sharing! I feel like you might like the band Hey Ocean! Look up the song “Big Blue Wave.” Ashleigh Ball has the most beautiful voice around.
Continuing on the discussion of Scandinavian artists, there is this one lady from Iceland named Hafdis Huld, she has this hilarious song called “Action Man.” At first it sounds really silly but once you read the lyrics it’s like this pretty aggressive satire of male/female gender roles, all told through this story of an “Action Man” which I assume is a sort of GI Joe character.
